What is the difference between a Compatible and Genuine ink / toner cartridge?

Compatible ink/toner cartridges are cartridges are a brand new cartridge manufactured by a third party manufacturer. These cartridges are not approved by the original printer manufacturers. Compatible cartridges usually are priced 30-50% cheaper than the equivalent genuine cartridge. There are varying degrees of quality of compatible cartridges which is reflected into their price. Printmark only sources the best quality compatible cartridges which provide an equal or better quality than the original manufacturers products.

What is a Remanufactured ink/toner Cartridge?

These are original cartridges which have been used once, returned, cleaned and refilled. These have been tested to manufacturer's specifications and are generally priced 30-50% cheaper than the genuine new cartridges

How long will my order take to be delivered?

We allow 2-3 business days within New Zealand North & South Islands (excl. RD addresses and Waiheke & Chatham Islands or any other off shore locations) Generally most will be delivered within 24 hours (business days) Check our Shipping polices page for more details

What does page yield mean?

Page yield is the approximate number of pages you can print with one cartridge. The page yield of a cartridge is based upon an ISO standard for measuring ink cartridge yields by printing out pages with 5% page coverage until the cartridge runs empty.

Why does my cartridge not print as many pages as it should?

This will depend on what you are printing. If your are printing a document which has a lot of bold type, graphics, borders, pictures etc. and covers more than 5% of the page the ink/toner will be used up quicker. In addition printers usually go through a wake/power up procedure which will also include a printhead cleaning function that takes an amount of ink from the cartridges and puts in it to a waste tank

Why has the ink in my new printer run out quickly?

New printers, when purchased, will generally come with only a set of start up cartridges. These cartridges do not contain the same amount of ink/toner as the standard replacement cartridges contain.

What is the best printer for me?

When considering buying a new printer it is important to identify your printing needs. Consider how many pages in a month you are going to be printing, what are you printing eg text or lots of graphics and photos, colour or black only, the size of paper you are printing on, do you need double sided printing, do you need to scan documents how quick do you want the printer to print. Buying the cheapest printer is not always the best. Usually the cheapest printer costs the most to run. The total cost of ownership of a printer (upfront printer cost and cost of cartridges) is an important factor to consider

Why are some other compatible cartridges cheaper than Printmark?

Printmark only sources compatible products that give quality print results. Our compatible products are batch tested locally in New Zealand to ensure they are giving and equal or greater page yield than the original manufacturers and contain the highest quality inks and toner. Many cheaper compatible brands contain dye based inks which will fade and deteriorate quickly and may not hold the same quantity of ink or toner
